During a recent visit to Los Angeles to assess wildfire damage, President Donald Trump criticized Mayor Karen Bass for her handling of the crisis. He urged her to utilize her emergency powers to expedite the return of residents to their homes and commence rebuilding efforts. Trump emphasized the urgency of action, dismissing concerns about safety and regulatory hurdles.

In a roundtable discussion, residents expressed frustration with Mayor Bass, highlighting delays and bureaucratic obstacles preventing them from accessing and rebuilding their properties. One resident noted that they had been informed it would take 18 months before they could begin reconstruction, contradicting the mayor's assurances of immediate action.

Despite these tensions, the visit concluded on a collaborative note, with both President Trump and Governor Gavin Newsom expressing a commitment to work together on recovery efforts. Trump pledged federal support and emphasized the importance of cooperation between federal and state authorities to address the disaster's aftermath.
